The 20th Anniversary of FinnFunn in November 2012

The 20th anniversary of FinnFunn Weekend is sure to be an exciting event, as Finns from throughout the Northeast and other areas gather for this annual potpourri of fun, food, and fantastic entertainment - also a tori. All roads lead to the Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center in Callicoon, New York, for the weekend of November 9- 11, 2012.

The Finnish-American Heritage Society (FAHS) is hosting the weekend for the seventh time, with Anita and Jack Smiley again serving as co-chairs. The Villa Roma Resort is an ideal location for spending a few relaxing days with good friends. There will be a full program during Saturday and entertainment in the large theater on both Friday and Saturday evenings. Social hours prior to dinner and the entertainment will draw everyone together to share camaraderie and enjoy some Finnish music. In addition, the package price also includes full breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and lunch on Saturday.

Headlining the entertainment will be the 2012 Finlandia Foundation National Performer of the Year Maria Kizirian, singer and songwriter from Los Angeles, and the 2012 Finlandia Foundation National Lecturer of the Year Glenda Goss, a prominent Sibelius scholar and musicologist who teaches at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.

The Villa Roma Resort is an ideal location to bring the children also. The indoor sport complex has bocce, shuffleboard, ping-pong, table and video games, and an indoor pool and Jacuzzi. The resort is handicap accessible and is a non-smoking facility. We invite you to take a virtual tour by visiting www.villaroma.com or call 1-800-727-8455 is you need further information about the resort.

Further information on plans will be posted on the FAHS website, www.fahs-ct.org. Reservations for rooms at the Villa Roma will be made directly with the resort, and registrations are being handled by FAHS. Please contact Anita and Jack Smiley at smileys.place@juno.com or tel.
